DUSHANBE, February 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan yesterday bought shares in open joint-stock company (OJSC) NBO Roghun for 2.5 million somoni, the source at the Tax Committee said.

“On February 18, tax officers from Khatlon and Sughd provinces, districts subordinate to the center and Dushanbe bought share in Roghun for a total of 2.5 million somoni,” the source said.

It is already the second mass Roghun share purchase action conducted by Tajik tax officers.  Before that, they bought shares in Roghun for 9.5 million somoni on January 6, when the government started to sell shares in order to raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun HPP.
