DUSHANBE, February 4, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Uzbekistan has reduced free import quota on products from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan for physical entities 100 times, Uzbek media report.

Under the resolution passed by the Ministry of Finance and State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan on January 30, 2010, the free import quota on consumer goods imported from neighboring countries is for physical entities at 10.00 U.S. dollars.  These countries are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, free import quota for products imported or delivered through international forwarding services from territories of other countries is 1.000 U.S. dollars, according to Uzbek media.

We will recall that earlier, under Uzbekistan’s customs legislation the free import quota had been 1,000 U.S. dollars for all countries.
