DUSHANBE, December 22, 2009, Asia-Plus — A group of experts from the Adnan Saffarini Company (the United Arab Emirates) are expected to arrive in Dushanbe within the next few days to get acquainted with the course of implementation of the project for construction of Central Asia’s largest mosque in Dushanbe, Asia-Plus has learned from he company’s office in Dushanbe.
The construction work will not be suspended during the winter period, the source noted.
We will recall that a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the mosque was held on October 5 this year. 7.5 hectares of lands have been allotted for construction of this mosque near the settlement of Luchob in Dushanbe. The project is implemented by Adnan Saffarini under financial support of Qatar.
The mosque that will be built on the Karamov Street is expected to be finished in five years. Besides the prayer halls, the mosque will have library, museum as well as reception and conference halls. While working out the design, specialists took into consideration features of Tajik national architecture.
