Bills on financial management, administrative review and audit at public sector discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, December 21, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A roundtable meeting to discuss the draft laws on financial management and administrative review at the public sector and internal audit at the public sector took place at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) at the end of last week.

The source at a MoF said the meeting had brought together representatives from the Center for National Legislation, the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education.

Both bills have been worked out on the basis of international practice and standards of internal financial control and internal audit and the meeting was held in the framework of the European Union project, Capacity Building in the Public Financial Management in Tajikistan, the source said.

According to him, the meeting participants discussed proposals on forms and contents of the mentioned draft laws that will be taken into account in bills’ final editions.  The government is expected to consider these draft laws in May 2010.
