Former Tajik Komsomol leader asks to reserve the first inscribed share for him

DUSHANBE, December 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Former Tajik Komsomol (Young Communist League) leader Odiljon Yoqubov (he headed Tajik Komsomol in 1988-1990) has asked the Ministry of Finance to reserve the first inscribed share in Roghun for him.

We will recall that enterprises and persons that will buy shares for more than 5,000 somoni will be given special inscribed Certificates of Shares.

“Over the last quarter of a century, many important events have taken place in our country,” said Yoqubov in his appeal, “However, they have not aroused in me any sense of necessity to participate in them.  As far the energy security and construction of the Roghun hydropower electricity are concerned, discussions over these subjects have made me “wake up.”

Appealing to his former colleagues, Odiljon Yoqubov notes that this appeal is not the next order of the government or president’s office, it is “a cry form the heart of the person, whom you know well.”

Yoqubov pointed to the necessity of bringing the country out of “this humiliating dependence.”  “I have asked Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov to reserve the first inscribed share in Roghun for me,” Yoqubov noted.

“Like many of you, I also do not accept many things in our country, but today, we must be above all disagreements for the sake of dignity of our people and our country,” he stated.
