DUSHANBE, October 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Russia’s state-controlled integrated petroleum company, Rosneft, is considering the possibility of construction of refueling stations in Tajikistan, the Rosneft press service reported, referring to the company top manager Sergey Bogdanchikov.

The company also does not exclude the possibility of a joint work on rehabilitation of the fuel-supply complex at the Dushanbe airport.

According to Bogdanchikov, Rosneft intends, first of all, to register its subsidiary, Rosneft-Central-Asia, with appropriate bodies of Tajikistan.  “We are currently conducting negotiations with Tajik authorities on allotment of places for construction of refueling stations,” said Bogdanchikov, “We also do not exclude the possibility of a joint work on rehabilitation of the fuel-supply complex at the Dushanbe airport.”

In the meantime, Russia’s Trade Representative to Tajikistan told Asia-Plus that Rosneft and Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Industries recently signed “a protocol of intent on Rosneft’s getting into Tajikistan’s market.”  According to him, Rosneft is ready to invest in development of Tajikistan’s market of oil products.
