DUSHANBE, October 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Shoira Rajabova from the village of Mehnatobod in Sughd’s Panjakent district has been detained on suspicion of having killed her 5-year-old daughter, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI told Asia-Plus today that Shoira Rajabova applied to the Panjakent police department on October 25, noting that her five-year-old daughter has been missing.

“Investigation carried out by local police has established that Rajabova killed her daughter the same day (October 25) and buried her in the household yard,” the source said, noting that the cause of the murder is under investigation.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Shoira Rajabova under the provisions of Article 104, part 2 (intended killing) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code and an investigation is under way.
