KHUJAND, October 3, 2009, Asia-Plus — The branch of the Russian company Zelyonaya Zone (Green Zone) (Moscow), engaged in production of concrete products, was officially opened in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province on October 2.
The branch director Farhod Jumayev told Asia-Plus that they would produce more than 300 types of concrete products ranging form tiles for coating building fronts to paving blocks. “We will also produce concrete windowsills, footsteps, fireplaces, and stair posts,” Jumayev said.
The workshop was set up at the Khujand-based plant Khujandtorgmash and its rated capacity is up to 6,000 square meters of concrete products per month. “We will use high-quality cement produced in Pakistan,” the director said.
According to the Sughd regional administration, 17 Tajik-Russian joint ventures currently operate in northern Tajikistan.
