DUSHANBE, September 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — Heads of supreme financial control bodies from the CIS states gathered in Dushanbe for the 9th session of the CIS council of supreme financial control body heads that has opened here today morning.
Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine met in the Tajik capital to discuss issues related to mitigation of effects of the global financial and economic crisis.
During the meeting the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of Tajikistan formally took over as the rotating chair of the CIS council of supreme financial control body heads. Before that, Russia’s Chamber of Accounts held the rotating chair of the council.
The meeting is expected to result in signing of a number of documents today afternoon.
Founded in 2000, the CIS council of supreme financial control body heads is dedicated to provide cooperation between supreme financial control bodies and coordinate interaction and exchange of work experience between them.
