KULOB, August 25, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Reorganized into seed-growing farm just this year, the farming unit Sharifjon in Khatlon’s Vose district plans to produce at least 300 tons of high-quality cotton seeds of IRAM-01 a new selection variety of cotton, during the first year of work, Asia-Plus has learned from Habibullo Kuliyev, a leading specialist with the farm.

“The author of this variety, the cotton breeder from Sughd’s city of Konibodom Otajon Mahmoudov, has been invited to help cultivate this cotton variety in the district,” Kuliyev said.  According to him, they plan to plant this variety on 420 hectares of lands starting from the next year.

Kuliyev added that their farm has grown wheat on 190 hectares of farmland this year.
