Tajik-Chinese joint team wins the city park design competition

DUSHANBE, July 27, Asia-Plus  — A joint team of specialists from Dushanbe’s open joint-stock company (OJSC) Giproprom and China’s limited liability company, The Xinjiang Research Institute, has won the city park design competition announced by the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that their design, entitled Farah-1 (Gladness), had been recognized the best.

The Dushanbe construction directorate jointly with authors of the design is to prepare appropriate documents to choose contractor for construction of the park.  The park is scheduled to be finished by August 2011, the spokesman said.
