Solar batteries transforming energy from the sun were established in village school of Payaryk district of Samarkand region. This is the first time of using alternative power sources in Uzbek schools.

Solar batteries were established in frames of joint projects of Republican agency on technologies transfer (ATT) affiliated with Uzbek Ministry of economy, Economics department of National university, and American company specializing on production of solar batteries.

New devices will allow to supply constant electricity to the school during the day and use computers, which was impossible before.

Second project was establishment of solar battery for lifting ground waters for agricultural objects.

It was established on the land of village entrepreneur in Samarkand region. Device allows to supply irrigation water to nearby territories from early morning to late evening by means of solar energy. Now with the new technology it will be possible to receive yield twice a year.

Given projects provided for establishment of solar batteries only in distant districts of the republic, agency noted.
