Uzbekistan signed the Statute of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Ceremony of singing the Statute by Uzbek Ambassador in Germany Bakhtiyar Gulyamov was held in Berlin, Uzbek MFA reported.

IRENA”s task is consulting of industrially developed and developing countries, assisting them in building-up usage of renewable source of energy. Supporting members of agency in formation and managing framework conditions for stimulating development of renewable sources, also by means of sharing technologies and knowledge in this sphere, is another priority direction of agency”s activity.

Session of agency”s preparatory commission, in the course of which questions of head office location and appointment of IRENA general director, and other important questions referring to further activity of the agency, will be discussed, will be held on June 28-29 in Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt).

Germany is the initiator of IRENA establishment. Establishment conference, in the course of which the Statute of agency was signed by 75 states, was held on January 26, 2009, in Bonn. The document has been signed by more than 100 countries nowadays.
