DUSHANBE, February 4, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Three persons were killed and two others were injured on February 3 as two cars collided in Khuroson district, Khatlon province, according to the Interior Ministry traffic police department.

“Opel Vectra went into oncoming traffic and collided with Mercedes,” said the source, “As a result of collision, two passengers of Opel-Vectra and one passenger of Mercedes died on the spot, while both drivers sustained various injuries and were taken to central district hospital.”  The cause of the accident is under investigation.

119 traffic accidents have been reported in Tajikistan since the beginning of this year.  50 persons have been killed and 140 others have been injured in those accidents.
