DUSHANBE, December3 1, 2008, Asia-Plus  — On occasion of the New Year holiday, an operation group of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) staying in Tajikistan has provided food products to Dushanbe boarding-school # 1.

Assistance included dried fruits, canned food, groats, sugar and bakery products that had been purchased due to donations made by officers from the operation group.

Russian border officers also provided assistance to vulnerable parishioners of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Dushanbe.

We will recall that under the bilateral agreement that was signed in Dushanbe on October 16, 2004, the FSB operational group currently stays in Tajikistan to perform advisory functions, provide assistance to Tajik border guards in the effective border patrolling and training of the young generation of border guards.
