DUSHANBE, December 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday December 25, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan exchanged notes on ratification of the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation, according to the MFA information department.

The note exchange ceremony was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and Tajik Ambassador to Turkmenistan Qozidavlat Qoimdodov and Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meretov singed the protocol on exchange of notes.

During the ceremony, the sides noted that bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan was actively expanding.  They, in particular, noted that official visits of the presidents of the two countries that took place in 2007 gave additional impulse to the further development of mutually beneficial relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the MFA information department said.
