DUSHANBE, December 17, 2008, Asia-Plus — Ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT) has called on its supporters to activate work against outlawed religious radical organizations such as Hizb ut-Tahrir, Bayat, Ahmadiya and Salafiya.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Davlatali Davlatzoda, first deputy head of PDPT, said that that problem had been discussed at a board meeting of the executive committee of the PDPT organization for Khatlon province.
According to him, members of the mentioned religious organizations have been activating in the country lately. “We also call on Tajik society to be more active in countering these radical organizations in the country,” Davlatzoda said, noting that they assess activities of those religious organizations as threat to national security.
The PDPT deputy leader hailed contribution of the Islamic Revival Party (IPRT) that, is according to him, cooperating with PDPT in that direction.
He also added that Nemat Ibrohimov had been elected as leader of the PDPT organization for Khatlon, replacing Nargis Murodaliyeva.
