DUSHANBE, November 17, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The second specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is going on in Dushanbe.

Organized by Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Tajik Ministries of Energy and Industries, Economic Development and Trade, and Agriculture, as well Dushanbe Mayor’s Office and Tajikistan’s Trade Mission in Iran under official support of the Governments of Tajikistan and Iran, the exhibition was launched at the Kokhi Borbad State Complex in Dushanbe on November 16 and runs through November 19.

Fifteen Iranian state-owned and private companies, including Power Transformers, Iran Transfo Corporation, Ariana T.D. Co, Zolal Iran, Ab-e Hayat, KTC, Production, Amavan, Takab Ettesad Co, and some others, have put on display their achievements in sectors like power technologies, construction and use of water resources at the fair, the source said.

Speaking at inaugurating ceremony, the CCI deputy chairman Asanali Karamaliyev noted that one of strategic goals of Tajikistan was providing energy independence.  He noted that bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in spheres like hydropower, construction and use of water resources was of great significance for both countries.

Mr. Abbas Bayani, Commercial Attaché, Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe noted that construction and modernization of hydropower facilities in mountainous area was one of priorities of energy cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.  “We will expand our cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of innovative technologies, energy efficiency increasing and renewable energy development,” Bayani added.
