DUSHANBE, November 19, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The Islamic Revival Party leader Muhiddin Kabiri has met here with Diane McKelvey Deputy Head, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), according to IRP’s headquarters in Dushanbe.

The meeting reportedly took place at the UK Embassy in Dushanbe.  In the course of the talks, Kabiri informed the FCO representative of the situation that emerged in relations between Tajikistan and Russia.

“We want the President of Tajikistan to find way out of the situation that emerged after the sentencing of Russian pilot in Tajikistan and deportation of Tajik labor migrants from Russia,” Kabiri said.

He is sure that only after that it will be possible to prepare an appeal to Emomali Rahmon regarding reforms to be carried out in Tajikistan.  According to him, Tajikistan need radical reforms and it is impossible to get serious success in all spheres of life without fundamental reforms.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues related to the situation around Tajik labor migrants working in Russia, positions of political Islam in modern world and the current situation in the region.
