DUSHANBE, November 19, 2011, Asia-Plus  — On Friday November 18, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asghar Sherdoust.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in spheres such as energy, education and culture.

They also discussed issues related to completion of construction of the Istiqlol Tunnel and acceleration of construction of the Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant.

At the end of the meeting, Iranian diplomat presented to Tajik minister a series of his books entitled “Bayozi Adabiyot.”  200,000 copies of these books intended for senior school students have been printed in Iran recently and they will be handed over to the Ministry of Education of Tajikistan in the near future.
