DUSHANBE, November 22, 2011, Asia-Plus — Establishment of a fruitful cooperation between Tajikistan’s Migration Service and the Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan (RCS) in the field of migration were the focus of a meeting of the Migration Service head Safiallo Devonayev and the RCS Secretary-General Zafar Muhabbatov that took place here on November 21, the Migration Service press center reports.
The Migration Service and the RCS are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation the field of migration in the near future. They will also work out the plan of joint actions for 2012.
Under support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (FRC), Tajikistan’s RCS has been implementing the project aimed at promoting studying the Russian language, basic computer skills, raising legal awareness and preventing various diseases in the Asht and Shahriston districts of Sughd province, the Panj and Vose districts in Khatlon province and the Roshtqala district in Gorno Badakhshan for already 1½ years, the source said, noting that those programs would ease labor activity of Tajik labor migrants in Russia and other CIS nations.
The Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan is one of the oldest humanitarian organizations in the country and is providing assistance to people in need since 1927. Currently, RCST implements more than 20 projects in the fields of disaster management, health and organizational development with the financial support of IFRC, ICRC and Partner National Societies.
