DUSHANBE, December 15, 2008, Asia-Plus — A 37-year-old resident of the village of Sarichashma in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district, Odilkhon Qurbonov, was detained by local police yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI). 

Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for a MoI, said that 9.5 kilograms of marijuana had been found in his home. 

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Odilkhon Qurbonov under the provisions of Article 200 (illicit drug trafficking) of Tajik Penal Code and an investigation is under way.
