DUSHANBE, January 10, 2012, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon has named Nouriddin Saidov to be the new Minister of Education and moved his predecessor in the post, Abdujabbor Rahmonov, over to the position of Chancellor Tajik Teachers’ Training University.

By president’s decree of January 10 Abdujabbor Rahmonov was relieved of his post of Minister of Education.  Nouriddin Saidov, formerly Chancellor of Tajik National University, was named to be the new Minister of Education.

By government’s decree Abdujabbor Rahmonov was appointed Chancellor of Tajik Teachers’ Training University named after Sadriddin Ayni.

Hayot Odinayev, who had previously been Vice-Chancellor of Tajik National University, was appointed Chancellor of Tajik National University.

Besides, by government’s decree ex-chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Khairiddin Abdurahimov was appointed to head the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan.  He replaced Khaibullo Latifov, who was made Deputy Security Council Secretary on January 4.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon fired almost the entire leadership of the security services in 2010 after the Dushanbe jailbreak that took place in August 2010.

Ex-Ambassador of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Bobokhon Mahmadov was appointed director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan.
