KHUJAND, December 11, 2008, Asia-Plus — A special laboratory for enrichment of minerals will be set up at Tajik Mining-Metallurgy Institute located in Chkalovsk, Sughd province.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Professor Kholmurod Nazarov, the head of the Metallurgy and Chemical Technology Department within Mining-Metallurgy Institute, said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had supported to provide the lab with necessary equipment.
According to him, IAEA has provided the institute with light meters, radon meters, dosimeters, gas analyzers, microscope, hydro-press, muffle furnaces, crusher and mill.
Tajik Mining-Metallurgy Institute currently has 950 students, including 110 girls.
