DUSHANBE, December 1, 2008, Asia-Plus — Sunday evening, President Emomali Rahmon met in Sana’a with a group of Tajik medical specialists working in Yemen, according to presidential press service.
As it had been reported earlier, President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Sana’a, Yemen for an official visit on November 30.
More than 150 Tajik specialists, who currently work in Yemen, attended the Sunday evening’s meeting. During the meeting, it was noted that more than 700 Tajik nationals now work or study in Yemen, with 80 percent of them being medical specialists.
The president answered questions of those present about problems of citizenship and travels to Tajikistan, the press service said, noting that to protect interests of Tajik nationals living and working in Yemen Rahmon instructed to take measures to open Tajikistan’s representative office or consulate in Yemen.
