DUSHANBE, April 7, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Sughd regional administrators have reported on the results of work done in January-March this year.

President’s official website reports that President Emomali Rahmon Saturday morning had telephone conversations with chairpersons of the cities of Istaravshan and Panjakent as well as the districts of Mastchoh, Asht, Shahriston, Bobojonghafurov, Spitamen, Ghonchi and Zafaraobod in the northern Sughd province to review the results of the first quarter’s work.

The regional administrators reported on the results of the financial and economic activity carried out over the first three months of this year, the progress of the spring sowing campaign and measures taken to mitigate effects of floods and other natural disasters.

A special attention was reportedly paid to the issues related to mitigating effects of natural disasters and extending areas under gardens and vineyards, the source said.

The head of state reportedly urged the Sughd regional administrators to speed up the spring sowing campaign and take adequate measures to provide farmers with agricultural machines, fuels and fertilizers.  He also ordered to take work of the emergency management commissions under strict control.
