DUSHANBE, April 7, 2012, Asia-Plus — Prosecutors have reportedly completed the preliminary investigation into deadly New Year’s Eve stabbing attack of a man dressed as Farther Frost and the case has moved to a court.

The BBC’s Russian Service reports that charges of murder and hooliganisms have been officially brought against eight suspects, including one underage teen.  The BBC, however, does not name the suspects.

We will recall that 24-year-old resident of Dushanbe Parviz Davlatbekov dressed as Farther Frost to please people was deadly wounded by a knife on December 31.  He died of his wounds at a hospital on the night of January 1-2.

Parviz’s relatives said that he was attacked for dressing as Father Frost to attend “un-Islamic” New Year celebrations.  According to them, Parviz went out to attend a private New Year”s party.

On his way home, Parviz was confronted by a group of young men, at least one of whom stabbed him with a knife, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The law enforcement rejected speculation that Parviz Davlatbekov was attacked for dressing as Father Frost.

Four persons, including three university students and one underage teenager were arrested in connection with the crime.  According to the data of the preliminary investigation, it was the underage teenager that stabbed Parviz twice in the stomach.

The charge of intentional infliction of serious bodily injury that entailed death of the victim has been officially brought against them.
