DUSHANBE, November 19, 2008, Asia-Plus — Accountants at general schools of 24 cities and districts of the country, which will be shifted to the per capita financing system beginning on January 1, 2009, have been taking training courses on a new accounting system, Asia-Plus has learned at the Education Projects Management Unit within the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The training participants include accountants with general schools from the cities of Roghun, Qurghon Teppa, and Isfara, as well as the districts of Farkhor, Hamadoni, Vose, Bokhtar, Varzob, Nourobod, Rasht, Tojikobod, Fayzobod, Jirgatol, Jomi, Khuroson, Shahritus, Qubodiyon, Jilikul, Qumsangir, Rumi, Panj, Danghara, Temourmalik and Muminobod.
The training courses are part of the Education Modernization Project, sponsored by the Word Bank, and aim to instruct accountants in methods of work in an accordance with a new financing scheme for general education, based on the principle of ‘money follows the student,’ the source at the Education Projects Management Unit said.
We will recall that 1,090 schools in 19 cities and districts of the country have been shifted to the per capita financing system so far.
