DUSHANBE, July 20, 2012, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s upper chamber (Majlisi Milli) of parliament yesterday seconded amendments reducing scales of benefits for parliamentarians and officers from law enforcement and power-wielding structures.
We will recall that the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) on June 20 endorsed amendments to 14 laws providing for reduction in scales of benefits for parliamentarians and officers from the power-wielding and law enforcement agencies several times.
The amendments are reportedly connected with the necessity of carrying out economic reforms in the country and economical use of budgetary means.
We will recall that the current monthly wage of a deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon is 4,950 somoni.
