DUSHANBE, July 23, 2012, Asia-Plus – One more drug courier was detained at the Dushanbe airport at the end of last week, the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center reports.
The 33-year-old resident of Dushanbe was traveling to Yekaterinburg (Russia) with drugs in his stomach. The drug peddler reportedly ingested 66 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to raw opium weighing some 400 grams.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pushers under the provisions of two article of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 200 (3) – drug trafficking; and Article 289 (2) – smuggling. An investigation is under way.
