DUSHANBE, November 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Compared to February prices of basic food products on Dushanbe’s bazaars (markets) have not changed considerably; flour and meat leap was reported in March and prices then came down.

Thus, the price for a 50-kilogram sack of grade 1 flour on Dushanbe’s Shohmansour market has not changed and been 105 somoni.

The price of one kilogram of potatoes on the Shohmansour market is 1.5 somoni, sugar – 2.5 somoni, macaroni – 3 to 8 somoni depending on grade and producer country, and the cost of ten eggs fluctuates from 5 to 6 somoni.

Prices of meat and rice have increased inconsiderably: the price of one kilogram of kilogram of beef has risen from 16 somoni in February to 17 somoni; the rice prices have risen by 2 somoni – the price of one kilogram of rice on the Shohmansour market is now 5 to 10 somoni depending on grade.

The price of one kilogram of onions has risen from 1 somoni in February to 1.5 somoni.  The vegetable oil prices have risen by 1 somoni and one liter of vegetable oil now costs 8 to 11 somoni depending on producer country.
