KULOB, September 24, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On September 24, Specialists from the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision took the sample of background radiation of atmosphere for the first time.

The Kulob chief sanitary inspector Saidsarvar Alamov says it has become possible due to the radiological laboratory that has been installed at the center by Belarusian specialists.   “The abs has been provided with Alpha/Beta spectrometer, portable radiometer and computer with special data processing program,” Alamov said.

According to him, Belarusian specialists have helped install the radiological laboratory.  “In the near future, the Center will start work on detecting alpha/beta/gamma particles in food, construction and other materials across the whole Kulob region,” the Kulob chief sanitary inspector noted.
