DUSHANBE, November 10, 2008, Asia-Plus  – The Indian Embassy in Dushanbe in association with the Tajik-India Friendship Society is planning to organize a on the spot ”Sketching and Painting” competition on November 14 in the Embassy premises to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, press release issued by the Indian Embassy said.  

Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday is celebrated every year in India as ”Children”s Day”.

The subjects for the sketching and painting are: (a) ”Festivals (Indian/Tajik); (b) ”Market Place (Bazaar)”; (c) “Landscape”; and (d) “Animals”.

About 100 children aged 8 to 12 from different schools of Dushanbe are expected to participate in the competition.

The winners (first, second and third) would be presented with prizes.  The paintings will be put on display in the Embassy Cultural Centre Hall, on November 15 from 10:00 to 12:00 followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
