DUSHANBE, October 16, 2012, Asia-Plus  — 38 countries of the world have provided more than 46.5 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first nine months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

More than 8,500 tons of wheat flour for 4.5149 million U.S. dollars, 514.9 tons of vegetable oil for some 800,000 U.S. dollars, US$19.4 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for 1.4 million U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances have been delivered to the country over the report period.

Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 41.9 percent, Russia – 11.5 percent, the Netherlands – 7.2 percent; China – 5.0 percent, and Egypt – 4.5 percent.
