DUSHANBE, January 26, Asia-Plus — First building of a new center for disabled children is supposed to have been built and put into operation in the Settlement of Chorbogh in Varzob District already this year, by the 15

anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, which marked on September 9, Matlub Khalifayev, Chairman of the Committee for Construction and Architecture, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 26.  

According to him, this center is expected to be home for disabled children from all regions of the republic. 

“The decision on resumption of the construction of half-finished facility in Varzob District was taken straight after the

tragedy,” Khalifayev said, noting that at present the joint-stock company “Giprostroy” jointly with the “Saniosp” enterprise is preparing feasibility study for the center.    

The Committee Construction and Architecture Construction head noted that the new center for disabled children would consist of four buildings to accommodate some 500 children and sports ground. 

Khalifayev noted that many local and international organizations active in the republic as well as diplomatic missions had expressed their readiness to provide assistance in the construction of this center.
