Thursday [February 9], the DCA press service reported.    

Avaz Yuldoshev, a spokesman for the DCA, has told Asia-Plus that the main purpose of the visit is for Ms. Biolik to familiarize herself with drug situation in


Tajikistan


.  

During the meeting, the DCA top managers briefed Canadian ambassador on history of the establishment of the Agency, its objectives and goals, and the results of interaction with representatives from international antiterrorist coalition in Afghanistan.  

For her part, Dr. Anna Biolik noted, “One of priorities and main directions of our activity in the area of fighting drug trafficking is providing financial and technical assistance to the law enforcement authorities of Afghanistan and neighboring countries.”  Canadian diplomat stressed that if there is no stability in Afghanistan there will be no stability in the region. 

During visiting the DCA Ms. Biolik familiarized herself with activity of the Analytical Center, Forensic Examinations Lab and the Agency Drugs Store.
