DUSHANBE, February 27, Asia-Plus  — The head of central banks from the member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) have gathered in the Belarus capital of Minsk for the two-day 14

session of the EAEC council of national bank heads that opens on Monday, February 27. 

According to information from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), Tajikistan’s central bank head Murodali Alimardonov is giving paper at the Minsk session on monetary policy of the member states of the EAEC, its development and implementation.  

The NBT source says the session is also aiming to consider further development of the Community’s monetary cooperation, including cooperation in producing banknotes, developing numismatic market, minting collection and jubilee coins, as well as fighting coiners of false money.  

Delegation of central banks from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as the EAEC general secretary Grigory Rapota are taking part in the session’s work.  

The EAEC council of national bank heads was established on February 15 2001.  The main goals and objectives of the council are in coordinating activities of the central banks on monetary policy, interaction of national banking systems, payment-accounting relationships, mechanism of formation of currency exchange and convertibility of national currencies, currency regulations and currency control, etc.
