, March 7, Asia-Plus – Tajik border troops seized more than 216 kilograms of drugs in February this year, according to information from the Committee for Protection of Tajik State Border. 

The source in the Tajik border service says the totaled included more than 146 kilograms of heroin.   

In February, Tajik border troops warded off 30 attempts by trespassers to illegally cross the national border of

and 30 trespassers were detained.  

Besides, Tajik border guards last month carried out four joint operations on preventing drug trafficking in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies.

“During February, the border troops warded off attempts of illegally importing 65 liters of ethyl alcohol, 380 boxes of “Pine“ cigarettes, more than 12,000 liters of fuel, 1.5 tons of mineral fertilizers as well as 24 tons of cement via the Sughd stretch of Tajik national border,” the source said.
