DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus  — Kazakhstan praises Uzbekistan’s joining the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC), Kazakh Ambassador Yerlan Abildayev told journalists in Dushanbe yesterday, noting that it will help solve water, energy and transport problems in the Central Asian region.

“Since Uzbekistan is a transit country, all member nations of the EAEC will get benefit from its joining the Community,” Mr. Abildayev said, noting that Uzbekistan’s joining the Community will boost cooperation between its member countries.

On the introduction of the single currency for member nations of the EAEC, Yerlan Abildayev supposed that would become possible in some ten years.  “It is a very complicated issue; Europe moved to the single currency more than 50 years, you know,” Kazakh ambassador said, noting that the process of the introduction of the single EAEC currency was still under consideration.
