DUSHANBE, April 14, Asia-Plus — Yesterday evening, Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov and Russian Emergencies Minister also co-chairman of the Tajik-Russian Economic Commission Sergey Shoigu discussed in Dushanbe a progress of implementation Tajik-Russian economic cooperation agreements.  

Sergey Shoigu told journalists following his meeting with Rahmonov that in the course of the talks they set a plan for near future and considered a number of issues related to the forthcoming session of the Tajik-Russian commission for economic and trade cooperation that will be held in June this year.  

In this connection, the Russian minister noted that there were questions with power engineering workers and builders as well as with working out in detail issues on ratified agreement on labor migration.  “We also considered issues related to supply of Tajik farm produce to the Russian Federation in connection with past cold winter,” Shoigu said.

 Commenting on bilateral cooperation in agrarian and industrial sectors, Shoiqu called it “quite successful”, adding that last year a growth in trade turnover between the two countries made 29 percent while over the first three months of this year, it has made 240 percent.
