According to information from the Ministry of Culture, at present 36 museums having rare exhibits are functioning in

are “Iskandar Mehrob” (altar) dated from the Samanid period, golden belt dated from 13

century, ancient coins, collection of Tajik national clothing dated from the end of 19

th

and beginning of 20

th

centuries, etc.  

At the same time, the museum has many problems facing it.  The museum’s employees note that for lack of enough room for putting on display of exhibits many rare exhibits are kept in the museums basements.  The museum also has no additional place for organizing temporary exhibitions, according to them.
