According to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan, the border service’s leadership has supported this initiative.

The border service source says journalists intend to prepare materials on the situation at the Tajik-Afghan border and activities of frontier posts.  These reports are dedicated to a Day of Border Guards, which is marked in Tajikistan on May 28.

A chef spokesman for the Tajik border service Khushnud Rahmatulloyev will accompany journalists on this trip.

We will recall that the first four months of this year have seen six engagements between Tajik border troops and armed drug smugglers on the Tajik-Afghan border, according to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan.

The Tajik border service’s press service says that 1,056 kilograms drugs, with more than 447 kilograms of them being heroin, have been intercepted on the border so far this year.

17 firearms, including four sub-machine-guns “Kalashnikov”, one machine-gun, four grenade launchers, 140 different landmines, two unguided missiles (NURS), and a large amount of bullets of different caliber have been seized by Tajik border troops over the past four and half months.
