QURGHON TEPPA, July 17, Asia-Plus – The Khatlon governor Amirsho Miraliyev presided over a meeting of the region government in the Nosir Khusrav district on July 15.  The meeting summed up the results of work carried out in the region in January-June 2006.  Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov attended the meeting. 

Mr. Miraliyev telling the meeting warned to shuffle the Khatlon branch of Fund for Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan, Khatlon tax and finance services if all debts on wages in all sectors in the region were not repaid till September.  According to Amirsho Miraliyev, a total debt on wages in the province has amounted to 14.3 million Somonis as of July 1.   

            Thus, during 50 days tax officers of the province have to collect 51 million Somonis, the Khatlon branch of Fund for Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan – 27.4 million Somonis and the Khatlon finance services – 14.3 million Somonis.  

According to Miraliyev, although the debts on wages have been registered in the self-financing organizations but not in the organizations funded from the budget, all officials responsible for these spheres will be sacked if the order is not implemented.  

Miraliyev said that 69.6 million Somonis had been provided from the budget for various sectors of the region’s economy.  However, some districts and cities have spent these funds not for determined purposes, according to the Khatlon governor.  

“Inspections by the regional finance control services have revealed numerous instances of misappropriation of funds totaling some 1 million Somonis,” Miraliyev said.  

Telling the meeting, the Khatlon governor also noted that rising rate of infectious diseases in the province and shortage of medical personnel also evoked concern.

for solving the issue of training of personnel for Khatlon in the shortest possible time.  

The meeting also considered issues related to development of agrarian sector in Khatlon.  

On conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov handed over five computers to schools in the Nosir Khusrav district on behalf of the president.
