DUSHANBE, July 17, Asia-Plus – Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament)  presided over a working meeting on preparation of a Tajik-Russian inter-parliamentary forum formally titled “Tajikistan-Russian: Prospects of Regional Cooperation” on July 13.

Telling the meeting, Ubaidulloyev reminded that the Tajik-Russian forum would be held in

from August 24-26.  “The forum is aiming to seek mechanisms for promoting further expansion of cooperation between regions of the two countries with use of potentials of parliaments and local governments,” Shavkat Saidov said, noting that heads of 33 Russian regions as well as representatives from the Tajik Diasporas in these regions have been invited to attend the forum.     

During the meeting it was decided to set up an organizing committee and seven working groups.  Besides, it was also decided to send special groups from
