DUSHANBE, September 8, Asia-Plus – More than 250 guests from more than 25 countries of the world have taken part at the Sixth Forum of Tajiks and Persian-speaking Peoples that opened in Dushanbe today.  

President Emomali Rahmonov inaugurated the forum. 

Scientists, poets and artists such as Said Jalol Badakhshi from the United Kingdom, Masoud Mirshohi from France, Manouchehr Farhangi from Spain, Masoud Sipand from the United States, Aliasghar Sherdust from Iran and as well as known Tajik filmmaker and public figure Davlat Khudonazarov and others arrived in Tajikistan to attend the forum.  

The government had provided 380,000 Somonis (approximately US$100,00) for the forum.  

During their stay in Tajikistan the forum participants will also attend celebrations marking the 15

th

anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence and the 2700

th

anniversary of Kulob.  

The First World Forum of Tajiks was held on September 9, 1992.
