DUSAHNBE, September 8, Asia-Plus – Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), held talks with visiting Iran’s parliament speaker, Gholam-Ali Haddon-Adel in Dushanbe today morning.

Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel heading a parliamentary delegation arrived in Dushanbe Thursday evening to attend Tajikistan’s Independence ceremonies and the Forum of Tajiks and Persian-speaking Peoples.

Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Tajik upper house speaker, has told Asia-Plus that during the meeting the two discussed issues related to inter-parliamentary cooperation and exchange of legislation procedures between Tajikistan and Iran.  Ubaidulloyev and Haddad-Adel also considered the state and prospects of further expansion of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.  

We will recall that a trilateral meeting of parliaments of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan opened in Dushanbe today afternoon.
