DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus – “We see no reasons for the closure of the negotiation window over Iran’s nuclear program” Iran’s Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel told journalists in Dushanbe on September 8 following his meeting with President Rahmonov.
Haddad-Adel reiterated Iran”s readiness to negotiate confidence-building measures in the nuclear program dispute.
Stressing Iran”s inalienable right to nuclear energy, he added, “Our actions are within the IAEA regulations and based on the rights stipulated under international relations.”
“We have no military activity and this has been verified by the IAEA inspections,” Haddad-Adel said, noting that there is no legal base to prevent Iran from the nuclear energy.
”Iran’s nuclear program is just a pretext for the United States to put pressure on Iran, and if there had been no nuclear program, they would have found some other reason,“ he said.
At the same time, the parliament speaker noted, “I believe in the negotiations. If participants are really interested in negotiations, Iran does not see reasons for closing the negotiation window.”
Asked about the effects of possible sanctions against Iran, he said nobody was concerned about such actions. “We are not concerned. We are a nation that can manage itself and the Americans are aware of this.”
