DUSHANBE, October 6, Asia-Plus – Air carrier Air Arabia (United Arab Emirates) intends to operate regular flight from Sharjah to Dushanbe.

Ibrohim Jobirov, the deputy head of the civil aviation department of the Ministry of Transportation, said that the civil aviation department conducted negotiations with representatives from Air Arabia in Dushanbe in early October.  According to him, Air Arabia will have received permission to operate regular flights to Dushanbe by the end of this year.

Jobirov added that fare prices will practically not differ from those determined by Tajik national air carrier TajikAir.  “However, Air Arabia should prepare necessary documents and note its rates for getting license for operating flights to Tajikistan,” Tajik civilian aviation official said.

Air Arabia was established in early 2003 by an decree issued by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates.  It is the first and only low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa region, with a vision to be one of the world’s leading budget airlines in terms of profit margin, innovation, reputation and operational excellence.  Last year some one million people used services of this company.  Currently its six A320s operate to various countries of Asia and Africa.

According to the civilian aviation department, Tajik national air carrier TajikAir and affiliate in Khujand (northern Tajikistan) Samar Air operate flights inside Tajikistan and to other countries.  Besides, 21 foreign air companies, including 15 from Russia and two from Kyrgyzstan, operate flights to Tajikistan.
