DUSAHNBE, October 6, Asia-Plus – The first two-day conference of the legal support centers active in Tajikistan will open at Kayon-2 Hotel in Dushanbe on October 9.

The conference staged by Tajikistan’s Arbitrazh (Arbitration) public association under financial support of the British Department of International Development (DFID) and Chemonics International is aiming to consider issues related to the activity of the legal support centers in Tajikistan, practical implementation of Tajikistan’s laws, as well as cooperation with media and state bodies.  

Nigora Astanova, public relations assistant at the Arbitrazh association, said that the conference participants will share their experiences of work and discuss a reform of the legislative system and sustainability of the legal support centers. 

The conference is expected to result in adoption of recommendations for improvement of the centers’ activities in the country.   

The conference participants include representatives from the legal support centers, Farming Units’ Association as well as international organizations active in Tajikistan such as the OSCE Center in Dushanbe, USAID, ACTED, UNFAO, DFID.
