IKCO to export 1,200 luxury Samand cars to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, October 9, Asia-Plus – Keyvan Khojasteh, the deputy head of the Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) for export affairs, yesterday said in Tehran that in line with development of its exports to Central Asia the company has put export of 1,200 luxury sedans Samand to Tajikistan on the top of its agenda.   

Press release posted on the company’s site quoted Khojasteh as saying that the company recently sent some 120 Samand cars to Tajikistan and the other 1,080 ones will be gradually exported to Tajikistan in the near future.   

Khojasteh added that Tajikistan is considered as an appropriate market for IKCO in light of cultural affinities between the two countries.

“Export of Samand to Tajikistan market is regarded as a great success for the company to achieve its objectives on target markets.” 

Turning to IKCO representative office”s efforts in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan, to weigh export of the company”s products to Tajikistan, he stated that the office has planned to step up IKCO partnership on Tajikistan”s car market.

“We assume that IKCO will gain an eye-catching share of Tajikistan”s car market due to the country’s increasing interest in the company”s products especially in Samand.”  He also pointed out that IKCO representative in Ashgabat will undertake export of the company”s products to Tajikistan.
